Welcome to the Goswell one-name-study. This website aims to collate information relating to all Goswells across the globe, hopefully to link them into one big family.
"Goswell" is an old name. It appears to originate in England, probably from the 12th century. Research to date suggests two groups of Goswells; those in the eastern parts of England (London, Bershire, Surrey, Oxford, Hampshire) and those in the west (Devon). It is possible that the name arose independantly in both of thee areas.
If you are a Goswell, or a descendant of a Goswell, please feel free to make contact. A one-name-study works best where there is the collaboration of as many people as possible.
